Yes, how does one dent glass?
Two points: JK of Saylorville, PA has been dealing with health issues and moved to a "community," slowly backing out of his "hobby."
Should explain some issues. JK is not a perfect dodger, like some, and likely erred here and there. "C'est la vie!
If you called eBay and explained, I am sure they would have addressed issues and you would have been made whole and then some. EBay does well, though you have to deal with their ways, PayPal is less helpful and maybe best avoided.

I was going to buy a camera from him but the e-mail exchanges and answers to my questions were not satisfactory. He was snide and snotty so I dropped it - thankfully!
My experience exactly! Beware of this seller.

Bob- i thougth ebay n paypal were the same... (till now, i mean)
Yeah there are sellers who act this way (at least sometimes)... there are sellers who leave positive as soon as you pay (i.e. they are not waiting for buyer's feedback...) AND if something's wrong they refund you even before you get to the post office to ship the item back.
I had an UK seller who sold me some vintage photos and negs recently and it turned out, the negs are not original negs but 3rd gen material (somebody photographed old photos) so i told him this ain't what i expected and want a partial refund for the negs. He refunded me immediately, apologizing.
He also left positive feedback on me ass oon as i payed, which is how it should be.
I never understood why buyer needs to have double confidence in seller and "risk" is not shared.
I mean, buyer pays in full for an item he has never yet seen... then HOPE the item arrives and it is as it is... in the meanwhile most sellers wait until buyer leaves feedback. Why? Once i payed him, and payment confirmed, i did my share fully and a positive feedback should be left immediately.

Perhaps you should deal directly with the seller instead of complaining here? I bought two cameras from this seller and both were received as advertised. Just curious...how does glass get a dent in it?
One benefit of this forum is sharing information with other members. We are able to filter the odd complaint but this seller should be avoided...too many complaints by solid members!

This exactly. Whatever reasons are behind issues, this gives potential customers food for though so they are informed. I can understand reasons but would be glad to know this before I pay.

Neutral feedback
Neutral feedback
The alternative for negative feedback is Neutral Feedback. (grey symbol). Allows you to state problem but not affect percentage rating of seller. Sometimes, if the seller is hesitant to help you out, you just have to go with negative, but if he/she seems to be trying to assist... neutral is the way to go.

No, the stain is not oil, it´s a dent in the glass. I´ve already checked it.
I will return the camera. I´ve never liked leaving negative feedback...but sometimes it may be necessary, hope it´s not one of such times.

Agfa Super Isolette / Super Speedex f3.5 Solinar - CLA'd of course !!
Paid $567.75 to certo6 "jurgen kreckel" Dec 07, 2018
I service and restore vintage cameras myself, but sometimes I buy cameras for my personal use.
When I buy a camera for myself I try to find a camera that has already been serviced or a perfectly working copy.
I will state that dealing with certo6 "jurgen kreckel" was a complete joke.
The Agfa Super Isolette was delivered and in the first few moments this is what I found.
1. Shutter release stem/plunger (big issue) it gets turned by your finger when using the camera. If turned it hangs up and will not function.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : The shutter release "stem / plunger " is not an issue.
_______
2. Counter has a lazy return/spring.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : The film counter return spring was in fact replaced with an original "springier" or I thought it was. The frame counter disk did have a hard spot ( lack of a better word ) on its return, but I thought I had addressed that
_______
3. The range finder is mostly accurate but hazy. Very dirty and hazy inside this view finder / rangefinder.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : No response
_______
4. Lens is not calibrated correctly.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : Naturally I checked the lens focus. Apparently our collimator is not colimateing correctly.
_______
5. Old spider fungus marks that are embedded the the lens coating on the front lens element and front inner lens element. There was no mention of this in your listing. WHY?
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : Yes, the fungus is gone and the bit of "Etching" may be present.
_______
6. Film tested for the hell of it, this lens is soft and lacks that Agfa Solinar punch that a good copy would exhibit. Flash light test shows the rear lens has some haze between the elements.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : No response
_______
7. Focus is too tight, does not flow smooth.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : No response
_______
8. When you focus to infinity the rangefinder movement stops before the lens gets to infinity.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : I noticed that.
_______
9. I wish "Molybdenum Sulfate Powder" or other lubricant powder where not present. This stuff is all over both front and rear inner lens elements. It's coming from the shutter every time it is used. In my service work this lubricant powder is never used. This product is not intended for camera shutters.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : Lens was serviced by someone I send these particular shutters to.
_______
10. From the listing details and the price point I was under the impression this camera was ready to be used. In reality this camera needs lots of work.
RESPONSE - certo6 "jurgen kreckel" : When I do list / sell a folder, the intention is of course that it IS / SHOULD be ready to use.

While I have no complaints, Certo6 (Jurgen) has always been up-front and cooperative. But, that does not mean he is perfect or aging well, and his background may have a bearing.
My suggestion is money-back and find another source, but post the results of your negotiations for all to see.

Interesting. This is the first I have seen this thread though it has obviously been out there for awhile.
I am sad to hear that Certo6 is no longer as reliable as I found him in the past. He was always a bit curt and abrasive but was always an excellent seller and I never found reason to doubt his work.
I own 5 folders that were purchased from him over the past 12 years and all of them continue to work perfectly now.
Too bad.

Jurgen repaired a Super Ikonta for me way back in 2005 I think and the work was first rate. I couldn't ever complain. He also repaired a few other cameras of mine after I made a deployment to Iraq. Excellent work. I don't care if 13 years have passed, we don't need glaring posts stating that a highly skilled and respected repairman should be avoided. Not too many people on this planet can bring a Compur shutter back from the dead and make it work reliably for another decade. The fact that Jurgen is still accepting work should be enough for a standing ovation. If a member has had a bad experience with a repair tech, report on the whole story from start to absolute conclusion. Bad-mouthing just detracts from the skilled work that is done and further relegates so many otherwise excellent cameras to the fireplace mantle, cupboard or even wastebin, never to be used again.
From the sound of this zombie thread, I WILL say there is someone whom I WON'T be using for camera repair...

Phil +1 also. Figure he is getting older and maybe a bit edgy, always figure he did not like "exceptions," so worn kidd gloves, so to speak. Happy Days.

Well yes that is a no brainer. Just posting my most recent personal experience with certo6 "jurgen kreckel". My transaction with him took place just a few weeks ago, Dec 07, 2018.
I can not find any relative or supportive excuses that would justify certo6 "jurgen kreckel".
Seems people only want to hear positive only replies. Well, that is not reality.
No one should be attacked for posting an experience good or bad about certo6 "jurgen kreckel".

Are you trying to use Google analytics in order to take business away from Jurgen and/or create business for yourself?
You didn't really read the part I posted about the WHOLE experience to its absolute conclusion. That is what should be judged, not some knee-jerk posting. If you don't allow JK to make good on this then you have no cause to complain. If you do, then you should post about that positive part of the experience as well.

The op simply stated his experience, and also rounded up a lot of other questionable feedback. So what's the problem? It is what it is, and it is also why I buy cameras that I can fix myself or that are considered expendable if they break. Just had too many problems on this issue from too many techs. And, of course, so have a few others.
When I turned wrenches at Alfa Romeo dealerships, along w/ Mazda, Toyota and Volvo, if we made a mistake we fixed it for free. If we made too many mistakes we didn't work there anymore because we were fired, so we didn't often make mistakes. Screw up a camera, and someone ruins some film. Screw up a brake job and maybe you kill a family or two.
A dealership tech represents the car company and the dealer, a camera tech represents only themselves, so it's a difference in what is acceptable and what isn't. I was factory trained, nearly all of the camera techs were trained by working on YOUR camera and figuring things out later.
I know there are some good camera techs out there, and I applaud them, as it's finicky work and doesn't pay all that well. But as I stated, when I reached my limit on messed up work I went to Plan B. You have to learn from life's lessons and make your life easier not harder.

Well, I think people appreciate your experience with this seller, it is the way you go about it that seems quite odd (odd= using name/surname/company name within inverted commas to attract search engine results).
Looking at his eBay feedback, he has almost 200 people satisfied and two with negative experience. I mean, it happens, he is not a crook or something, we all get lemons from time to time when dealing online. What matters is that issues are resolved and buyer doesn't go off pocket.

I don't care how the user whom I was speaking about feels. This person had SEVEN posts as of their initial complaint. They were looking to gripe at the very least and possibly alter search results for a repairman and seller of a special breed of camera. If this complainant had seen the experience of dealing with Jurgen through to the very end then it is fair to air grievances. That hadn't happened here.
Regardless, I would appreciate a PM by the mod who altered my post so we can have a dialog about what is and is not proper here. There are far worse accusations and names called, here on the forum.

Not disagreeing...but seems the OP needs to return camera for credit from Krekel. No, not a crook but Krekel can be pissy at times. So, best way is diplomatic approach, to satisfy all. Thing is, I daresay Certo will prefer to fix each problem, but in truth, best road, at least for me, is to return, eat the mailing cost and get a credit. And look for another source.
Life is good or should be, we all take care of each other.

Let me make my stand here clear so that "Pioneer" "Phil_F_NM" and "BobBill" are not in a fog. I found this thread and a few others by searching the web. I had a bad "EXPERIENCE" with certo6 and wanted to find if this was common or just a rare case. I have found that it is not rare but a recurring event with certo6. I'm not here seeking customers. I can not find one line of advertisement in my post. I do not have a camera service website or calling card. So roll back boys and let people post what this thread is about, EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH certo6 "jurgen kreckel". That is all we are doing in this thread. Start a fan thread for certo6 "jurgen kreckel" and make it what you wish.
