Has anyone tried to scan a 5x4 neg on a 35mm+120 scanner(8800f)? I have the adaptor but it leaves about 5mm on each side(longest). Will it be able to cope in scanning? Thanks.
The adapter isn't so important, but is the negative completely covered by the lamp in the lid of the scanner? If anything is outside of the lamp-"frame" you have to scan it in two rounds and try to stitch it together "in post" as noone actually says in real life.
The best thing is to set exposure to Manual and make sure that both scans have the same curve/exposure applied to them. This will make stitching easier. I am sure it will look great. I used to scan 35mm panoramas in two takes and stitch them later in PS3. This should work just as well. The only difference is the file size, so make sure your computer has enough juice to handle it.
