Seattle area RFFers?

OH ! Gordy would you be bringing a small sampling of your fine straps? That's a big magnet to be there ~ ; - )

HMMMM. Straps. . . I would like a new strap for my Yashica. Good to bring straps.

So we should add nwcanonman to the list, then? The more the better.

I'd ordinarily be interested in a get-together (though not fond of beer) but I'm on the east side of the Cascades and avoid traversing the pass as much as possible this time of year. A warmer season, for sure, and I'd vote for the East Side... Factoria, Issaquah... probably easier parking too. 🙂 In the meantime, enjoy this meeting!

Certainly, when Spring rolls around, it would be great to have you join the Washington state locals, Doug. But, yeah, the pass is pretty sketchy. I know I wouldn't want to try it in my camaro. That thing is like an inner tube on icy ground. Issaquah would be prime location because the place is full of parking lots, and right off the I-90, so easy to get there, and everything. In Issaquah, the best place I can think of, would be . . . Flying Pie Pizza. If they still exist.

Saturdays or Sundays late afternoon wok for me capitol hill is a good place to take pics
Robert,
p.s. I will tell Blaine and Dennis two more rffers here on whidbey

I'm in for a meeting in Seattle...
There is a pub in Fremont that just opened (drawing a blank on the name), great brews and really sweet interior. The only reason I bring this up is that parking may be easier over in that area with PCC parking (cheap) and along the canal there is generally some spots. I'll try to get more info on the pub this weekend.

Anywhere in Seattle or the U District is fine with me.
Cheers.

That would be Brouwer's, a really fine place. I would still vote for the Elysian on Capital Hill. Saturday afternoon, there is plenty of street parking (mostly free) available and it is very roomy inside.

I would vote for Fremont just due to parking issues. Parking on Cap Hill is a PITA. Though not impossible.

Fremont also has the Hale's brewpub. Which has plenty of room for a group of us and good beer. Not a ton to shoot photos of in that area (unless we wandered t the Ballard locks before/after). But I'd be more interested in just getting together to chat and share photos than actually going out and shooting. For one thing, the weather is horrible this time of year.

Weather horrible?

Weather horrible?

Josh, the weathers great for snowboarding and skiing and mtn. bikeing great clouds in the sky and nice light when the sun comes out
R,
So whaddya mean the weathers horrible?

Well snowboarding has been great the past few weeks. But great snow in the hills means cold rain in seattle.

Although as I type this, Anacortes is bathed in sunlight. Making me wonder if it's sunny down at the Gallery golf course on whidbey.

My vote is for a beer on a Satuday or Sunday afternoon on Capital Hill or somewhere near The Center of the Universe. I'm free on February 12, 18, 19, March 4 or 5.

BTW, for those of you not familiar with Seattle, Capital Hill is definitely not populated with Republicans and "The Center of the Universe" is just East of Ballard.

Cheers,

Stan

Brouwers sounds like it might be the best, if it does indeed offer the most parking.

If anyone knows that it does actually have more parking than either Elysian location, please post.

Otherwise, since parking is a vital aspect of the plan, we will go with Brouwers, since no one openly detests it.

The PCC has parking . . . but I am not sure about the rules as to when and how much it costs. If anything.

Weekends, of course are the common free time of week. For me, SAT or SUN is fine.

SO, let's say this Saturday or next saturday at Brouwers in the evening like 7pm. Which day, then, between the two?

I can't make it This Saturday, I'm out of the area. I could do it next Saturday Feb the 4th, but that is cutting is close to the pre game celebrations for the Super Bowl.

Go SeaHawks!!!!

Leo

Next Saturday the 4th is better for me. The following Saturday is a bit jammed for me but still ok.

Bob

Err,

Well I'd rather not do it the day before the superbowl. But I can't do it the week after at all. I am involved with the NW yoyo contest that day (Feb 11 at the Seattle Center 'center house'). Feel free to stop by, should be interesting photos.

Well, every saturday is fine with me. I am not a big football watching guy, but some people are. Best to choose a day when the most people can show up, rather than choose a soon day and only half of our potential group shows up.

Wish it were possible to run a poll on a thread and have everyone vote for a day. . . but we might as well just post our votes.

So far, there are some for the 4th, and one not. Anyone else want to put forth a preference for the day?
