Thanks for the suggestion Gene. One of the main reasons that I have not been looking seriously at the Bessas is their increased shutter noise. I know that the R3M/R2M is supposed to be quieter than the earlier Bessa mechanical shutters. But, according to Stephen's website, the new mechanical shutter is still noticeably louder than the cloth shutters in the M bodies. I also really like the feel of my M4 and would like to get a second body with a similar feel. Internal metering is not very important for me. And in any case, the cost of the new Bessas is in the same ballpark as that of a decent M3 or M2 (of course, the M might need a CLA that would increase its price by a significant margin). Thanks for the suggestion though.
