i may never have the opportunity again (or soon anyway) to have all the wides at my disposal to work with side by side and really get to know.
in the end it may wind up being just the 25 that does it for me or i may turn into a 15 freak.

There’s a 12mm in the classified………….just a thought, it’s an interesting lens to use, not hard just odd

My opinion is to get the CV 3-some. If you already have the impression that the ZM21 will impinge on your R4 viewfinder space, don't buy it. You've already set yourself up to be disappointed with the lens, so when it arrives and it does exactly what you expect it to, what will you have gained or learned? Nothing!
Besides, isn't getting three new toys so much more fun than getting just one?

Seems like a pretty good plan to me, joe. But I have to admit(for full disclosure) that I'm biased as I'm thinking about almost the same kit(15, 21, and 35 for me). Hopefully later this year, more likely early next year.back alley said:for pretty much the same money i could get a 15/21/28 cv 3some and make the r4m a complete wide angle kit with no finder interference. and still use the zm 25 on it as well.
what ya all think?
joe
One adaptor, three lenses, one camera[for your wide kit] sounds like a better use of your $, I think.
of course, you'll need to figure out a bag to carry it all in...

having a 25 and a 35, this combo seems pretty good to me.
and i sorta like an all cv kit, body & lenses.

Joe, you are looking for the "magic bullet", which does not exist!!!! constantly changing equipment means you never really get to know your equipment, so that you can use it without having to think about it!!! Yes a vicious circle!!
The equipment sellers will be "happy bunnies" though!
P.S. the CV f3.5 28mm lens has been discontinued!!
My lecturer at Leica School many years ago said that "he could teach us to use the equipment, to develop and print the pictures, but could not teach us to "see" a picture," you either could or you could not.

are you saying that i cannot?
if you read what i am proposing it is not far off from what you are saying, set up a wide angle kit and explore that realm of shooting as i have never done before.

Three parcels means three posts in waiting for the mail thread... more lines in your signature.
What happened to your 12mm?

I think you should wait for your R4 to arrive, see if you like it, and see if the zm 25 will not obstruct the finder. Then go from there.

that is for you to decide, but constantly changing equipment can have a negative effect, I know, i've been there a few times!![]()
Yes, the equipment resellers will love you... please give me a chance to quote on whatever you decide.
I'm building a new kit myself so it's interesting to see the views/options of everyone.
Did you consider the new zeiss 21 f4.5... it should be a fair bit smaller than the one available now.
Anyway if it was me I would go 18mm, 21, 25 ... then up to 35mm.
At least that's the plan for me.
All I have so far is a new S3-2000 with the 50, that came last week ... I plan to leave it alone with just the 50 on it and get a new kit with the wider distractions.

yeah Joe.
Buy all of them and see which one you like.
And then sell me the 21 at a reduced price.

noel, i never had a 12.
ray, that was always part of the plan, see how the 25 fits and then add 4mm (in my head) to it and see if it obstructs.
john, honestly? i think i'm good enough to take good shots and play with the gear too.
pherdi, if i get the 21 and decide to sell i'll call you first!!
funny how some folks get all emotional about gear choices...
