Shooting Eastman (Double-X) 5222 in the Leica

As far as Diafine is concerned, you can also run the films -twice- through both baths. I learned this "trick" in 1975 from Modern Photography magazine, when I was exposing Kodak 2475 Recording Film at EI 6400, and actually getting consistently decent results.

Three minutes in "A", three minutes in "B", then four-five minute wash in running water. Then three minutes back in "A" and three minutes in "B". Then normal rinse and fix. Wonder what it would do to XX??

It would be great if we had a tab, where we could list all these "homebrew formulas". You can find a few, by trolling the thread, but there are lots more than will work with XX.

Andy, this looks really good. I am starting to go through my files and look for developer data etc. I will also look at some of the formulas used and post the recipes.

Dan, I have read of that but never seen the reasoning for it to be able to understand it! I will have a play after Xmas when I get the house back to myself!

I rolled 100 feet onto a 100 foot center spool and stuck it in my bulk loader.

I have been shooting alot of Neopan 1600 recently, and am still trying to get my head around the notion, of interchanging (and exposing the same) XX and Neopan 1600, depending on whether I want high-grain, or low-grain results. I really think I am going to like what comes out of this, it's going to be a personal project for next year.

I have made the decision to just shoot 5222 all this year. It seems to handle the iso changes quite well.

Thinking of summer and the brighter light - how slow have people shot this film, anyone less than 200?
 
For me, 5222 keeps me away from M9. I hope I am going to shoot another one or two rolls of 400' prior to getting a M9.2 or M10.

I love how the Project Double X site is coming together but I'm annoyed that I'm out of film and its still 7 day's until I get off the ship... ahhhh

I'm going to try Ilford DDX at 1:4/20c, for a bit more speed than EI250.
Developing times to be determined. Has anybody here tried this one yet?
 
Mike, these look very good ! I like the tones a lot. One question though, 10% or 1% Rodinal added to the HC-110 "B" ?
