This fellow is a retired professional photographer who decided he'd try his hand at cars. This is a 1947 Mercury, or used to be. He did all the design work and custom fabrication work himself, by himself. Fit and finish is immaculate. I asked him how long he'd had it and how long it took him to finish it. He said he'd had it 16 years, finished it two years ago, the first 14 years were spent working on it. He said the only thing which hadn't been altered from the stock '47 Merc was the rear window.

The hood opens, smoothly, first straight up, then tilts, by means of two electric motors attached to the two rods at the front.
