Good point Larry. The painted wing tips seem a great idea too, presumably to pick up what ambient light there might be, even if it’s only moonlight!

Anyone know what kind of a car this is?

I'd just bought a coffee to go and was on my way to the waterfront to enjoy the coffee. As I was crossing the street I saw this car coming down the road. From the distance I thought it was a Jaguar XKE. Coffee cup in one hand, camera in the other I swung the camera up to my eye and popped off a one-handed shot as it rolled by me. Luckily I was already setup with a high shutter speed. After taking a closer look at the image I realized I had no idea what kind of car it was.

Mike, I'd know for sure if I could see the front, but that looks like a Toyota 2000GT from the 1960s. It's quite a classic!

- Murray

Edit: According to Wikipedia, only 351 of them were produced between 1967 and 1970, so it is indeed rare! I remember seeing these in the car mags of the time.

Thank you, Murray, and everyone else for the quick response. I would have never guessed it was a Toyota in a million years. Live and learn.

All the best,
Mike
