Now, that’s a nice old car. Complete with the swing axle rear suspension that is so maligned elsewhere..

Sweet.
1941 meant the wartime night time lightcovers that weren’t in evidence in the 1938 shot. I wonder what that was all like in practice.

Good point Larry. The painted wing tips seem a great idea too, presumably to pick up what ambient light there might be, even if it’s only moonlight!

Anyone know what kind of a car this is?
I'd just bought a coffee to go and was on my way to the waterfront to enjoy the coffee. As I was crossing the street I saw this car coming down the road. From the distance I thought it was a Jaguar XKE. Coffee cup in one hand, camera in the other I swung the camera up to my eye and popped off a one-handed shot as it rolled by me. Luckily I was already setup with a high shutter speed. After taking a closer look at the image I realized I had no idea what kind of car it was.

Mike, I'd know for sure if I could see the front, but that looks like a Toyota 2000GT from the 1960s. It's quite a classic!
- Murray
Edit: According to Wikipedia, only 351 of them were produced between 1967 and 1970, so it is indeed rare! I remember seeing these in the car mags of the time.

Yes A Toyota GT.
And according to Wayne Carini it is worth a bunch of money. More than 600k as I recall

Thank you, Murray, and everyone else for the quick response. I would have never guessed it was a Toyota in a million years. Live and learn.
All the best,
Mike
