This thread is killing me. I sold my really clean black II a couple of years ago to raise funds for other stuff... bad bad bad idea. Regrets, I have 'em.

Hi Erik,

saw this just now.

Here's three images of my metal KASAM cassettes. I have had another five of them before, which I foolishly sold at one point when I temporarily left Leica altogether. I have only ever seen metal cassettes, never any bakelite cassettes. These are brass with a coat of black paint and marked Leitz Agfa Kassette DRP - Für Agfa-Leica Film

Raid, it is a 1 Standard from 1935, not a 1. I did not know that "1 Standard" Leicas exists, but here is the proof. Rob-F is right.

I knew that there was a Leica "1" and a Leica "Standard", but not that there was a Leica "1 Standard". 450 pcs made.

I am excited to be rediscovering my Leica I Standard after all these years.
I am inspired to load it with B&W film and use a good LTM lens with it soon.

not also encouraging but also GAS enabling :)
 
I guess I can call it "project" condition, somebody re-plate the knobs and flash shoe, shutter is not working but curtains look fine, however the RF looks good and need only tiny adjustment.

Mr. Fibble...I tried to reply to a Contax I post but lost my message and had to log back on, so cannot tell whether it was sent...sorry but take breaks...think....and if I can find the thread later I will repost some of what I have learned.

Leica 1932 aftermarket flash sync not working. Bought it as a paper weight works great now.
