Show Off Your Classic Nikon Gear

I declared August and September as Nikon Rf month(s) and started using a variety of rangefinders. This is now getting to a close - only 2-3 bodies left to use and some lenses. As with any "testing" - it requires lots of coffee and the occasional croissant. Here, Nikon S3 Olympic wit 35f1.8 and SP with 105f2.5. Loaded with Legacy Pro 400 in Nikon cassettes.

Here are some of the cheapest Classic F's you'll see. On the left, a body that KEH sold "ugly" for 39 bucks, minus back and finder, which in this case come from another parts F that had been moisture damaged. On the right, an old F which I found in a local camera store's parts bin for $5. Wrinkled but OK shutter, loose but tightenable prism, a bit of desilvering, and a somewhat odd sound on low speeds, but both cameras work fine, the FTn especially nice, having been CLA'd some time late in its career. The 50 mm. lens I got new in 1970, the 28 last year for small change (scratched a bit, but who cares).

I've recently bought a very early (1959) Nikon F (plain prism) with an F36 motor drive unit on the bottom. The serial number tells me it's in the first 9,000 ever made. It's far from mint condition but is very nice and works exactly as it should. I also managed to get a standard back thrown into the deal for when I don't want to carry the F36 around.

I got tired of having heavy photo books falling on my face when reading them (sometimes you nod off) - so I had this lectern made. Then of course I had to find out how many cameras you could put on a 14x22" surface. It was all in the name of research of course. Turns out you can put 16 on it - so two had to be on the table. These are all users - some more than others. S,S2.S3,S4 and SP's - and the Bessa R2S. Scaey thing is that I have more lenses than cameras too! Turned out that I had the same amount of Leica M2's.
 
My latest the F3, the first one I got is giving me LCD problems and there's
marks on the shutter, so back to ebay I went and found 2 non working ones
so I gave it a shot and they both work this is the better of the two. Just had to
fix the aperture index ring and adjust the meter.
