Leica LTM Show off your Leica I/II/III/LTM Camera

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
A repair technician explained to me the modifications that would have been made to make it a Ic from a Ia, and issues that have to be resolved if I wanted to put the original Ia Elmar back on.
Heck, its cheaper just to buy a Elmar lens!

My "teaching IIIg"

This was an incomplete IIIg that I got back into working condition, but left the top off, so that I could see its inner workings.

I got this Elmar 9cm at a local flea market. I like the way the vulcanite on the lens matches the camera covering. Shooting a half roll through it now.

If you are looking for black and chrome cameras look at the lens flange...if it is nickel then chances are the camera started life as black and nickel.

What a beauty, Michael. Congratulations.

It seems that the black and chrome II's were made for the export. They are more common in the US and maybe also in the UK. However, they usually have the "Germany" inscription (as on your lens).

Erik.
