Leica LTM Show off your Leica I/II/III/LTM Camera

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
This my Grandpas' Leica IIIf Rd 1952/53 my Dad gave it to me at Christmas having fun with it so far. I have three lenses ( 50mm f2 Summitar, 35mm f3.5 Elmar, and a 90mm f4 Elmar. It's in great condition I had it checked out and they said it was fine to use and didn't need CLA but the Summitar did. I bought the Viooh and a couple lens caps on ebay it's hard to find any Leica stuff here in Montana.

Very kool!

You have a nicely put together kit there, you are ready to go, it's great to see fresh new folks getting into using Screw Mount Leica's. here at RFF :)

Have Fun & Happy Shooting!

Tom

Thanks Huub for this wonderful picture.... true beauty never dies... IMHO the black LTM Barnacks with chrome fittings are the most beautiful ones ;)

Thanks Ron. It's a rare beauty with the unspoilt (well almost) black lacquer, but mine has nickel fittings and Elmar, not chrome. And in fact, I like the nickel just a tad better ;)

Old technology - new technology :)

Hi Rick,

I hope the old gal will serve you for many years to come! With the steel ribbon in the SCNOO it will be good, I reckon.

I hated to see it go, but loved selling it to you! Enjoy!

Yes there are a few methods to load a Barnack without trimming the film.
It can be done by inserting a thin card and sliding the film behind it or by removing the lens and opening the shutter with the Z-setting and guiding the film past the top edge of the film plane.
Trimming is pretty easy though.

Johan, I'm not used to using the SCNOO quite yet, I caught myself advancing the film with the advance knob a few time with the test roll. Sync-socket works fine too. Should have some results later today or tomorrow.

Thank you Mr. Fibble, yes it's true trimming is not hard at all, but sometimes if I trim my film before using it, then I can't use it for my other M leica? well, I never try to use trimmed film on M leica...:D Anyway, I guess I have to try it to use the thin plastic card to know if it's oke or not :) I hope nothing bad happens like jammed shutter :(

I was about to comment on seeing another one of those here - and it looks at least half as brassed as mine!

'tis an interesting beast for sure, but it's HEAVY! I believe there was a picture from one in the 'ultimate bokeh' thread a couple days ago as well.

If there's a digital camera to be found around the house, I'll post a shot later.

"My kingdom for a 73mm Hektor lens"

Alas, things being what they are, I do not have a kingdom...

Would love to shoot this lens on a regular basis, its IQ would match my Sonnars so nicely...

Helen, can you spell i - n - c - o - r - r - i - g - i - b - l - e?

glad you're getting a new Barnack.
