Very rare and very good condition. Will test it ASAP.
Very rare indeed, do not think I've ever seen one before. Could you post some more shots of it, maybe some close-ups?

I am trying out ORWO 54 Moviestock at the moment and decided to load an S2 with the Sonnar 85f2 for a trial roll. Typical Opton Sonnar with alloy barrel. It has been sitting around for quite some time and is typically "stiff" in its action - needs much more film through this combo to smoothen it out.

The classic 50's and early 60's 21 mm combination even for a M-shooter. Leica had not yet come out with the Super Angulon 21f3,4 - so many shooters carried a Contax II/III or a S2 as a dedicated 21 camera.
The finder is the Zeiss Turret finder with the 21 finder in it - a bit squinty and, yes, it is big and bulky, but looks quite cool and a bit "threatening" perched on top of the S2.

Hi all, I'm new to the rangefinder world. My brother got me into rangefinders after explaining how the Leica M's focusing mechanism works, after which I was hooked on wanting to try for myself.
After much searching and dreaming of a Leica, I found the Nikon S2 on eBay at a location very close by and significantly cheaper than any Leica I looked over... so... here she is - I love it
...so glad I found this other world... oh and Film!! thats another thing I'm starting to love more...

Hi Mike !Very nice set-up you have there James24. Where did you ever find that F-S adapter? I've been looking for one of them for such a long time, have so many F Nikkors I'd like to try on my SP. :bang:
Look at www.leicashop.com and send 'em a mail that you're looking for a Voigtländer F -> S/C Adapter. I got one brand new

This is cool. What are the performances of the Nikon 21 compared with the 21SA from Leitz ?
How about the market price ? same kind of price range ?
Is there any possibility to adapt the 21SA Leitz to the Nikon S range ?

Not without a LOT of surgery to the SA. Basically, you'd need to fashion a helicoid to mount into the Nikon and then stick the optical group from the SA into it. This may be feasible by using the CV 21mm f/2 in Nikon S mount as a donor but you still have the problem that it is a different nominal focal length from the SA and the SA has a different circle of confusion, so without applying a custom grind to the donor 21mm cam angle, you would lose a bit of the sharpness of the SA on the film plane as it would focus at a different rate from the original helicoid. It may not matter too much since the DOF of the SA is so great but it has a very unique helicoid and focus throw through the full range so this kind of optical swap may negatively affect the image making capability of that very special lens.
But, with enough money, yes, you could do it.

Just to offset all those pictures of "mintish" Nikon Rf's - here is a user. The dings and scratches on the body nicely complements the lens barrel. Glass is clean though - which is the key.

I did it. $8 for paint.
Top and front dechromed by sandpaper. Bottom not dechromed (the chrome on it is very thick. The top and front chrome is very very thin).
