Thanks guys. Yep the Nikkor-H went along with the S2. I can only blame 'outside influence' from my significant other!
I do hope that the shutter curtains of your S3 2000 won't develop the pinholes they've become quite famous for on this reissue series, and which don't affect the original 1950s silk shutter curtains whatsoever.
Oh, I did find this thread here at RFf: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125799
Bit disheartening.
I am on the verge of giving up an original S3 for a 2000.
...this is all true.Yes, but the S2 improves upon the Contax II, the design is more balanced and elegant.
Erik.
I have never actually seen one of those. Congratulations. You will make good use of it I am sure. Enjoy Chusoek holiday
This is one of my dream lens, I've been searching for a long time to get Micro-Nikkor 5cm F3.5 and finally got one!
Fascinating lens indeed!

Beautiful little lens indeed! It was originally designed to collapse for use as a copy lens, there is a special "hood" to adjust the F stops when it is collapsed.

Wow, nice, I hope to see some images from it. I've been searching for one as well (for a reasonable price).
I had an AR-1 that came attached to an F2 wih a plain prism, didn't get on with it. Then I picked up an AS head and it was immediately the answer. At first, with the rangefinder Nikons, I just shot them like the F2 plain but one day fiddling around transferred the release across. Well it looks ridiculous sitting up there but straight away the handling was transformed.
