there are many photos here that would not inspire me to buy most lenses.....
but then most of the discussions here are about gear and not photographs.....
i'm clearly in the wrong place

Why in the wrong place ?
I don't know, I don't get it anymore

Your talented, have a good Eye and perspective...
it's just a conversation about what we love, Photography

Cheers & Be well ~

Each time I see Erik's photosI think " I do really need that lens" soon later I remember it is the photographer not the lens...

excellent photo Erik, it must be a satisfaction to have this print in your hands !

PS: I like how the lens renders colours and focus in the last photo.

Thank you, Robert, a great compliment. I was happy with the picture because I used a 35mm finder and I was afraid that the feet of the flash slave would have been cut off, but they weren't.

Erik.

...
Irregardless of the fact that the quality of the background rendering is independent from the maximum aperture.

We agree on that :)

And I have certainly not seen anything I would hate. Just nothing that would sway me towards buying it (yet).

It's been really satisfying to find that it produces negatives that will print very large and look good.

This isn't necessarily one of them but it's the only one at hand that's not of a flat planar surface.

I’m liking how this lens plays with the sensor on the Leica CL digital… these are also from Prague. Leica CL digital, Voigtlander Heliar 40mm f2.8:
