slow night, any topic

My last bike before kids was a GS1000G with Vetter fairing and bags. before that Honda CB650 custom, Yamaha RD350, Maxuim 400. Still have 4 or 5 mopeds downstairs. Had a collection of 6 Whizzer bikes from the late forties and 50's

Was in The Sears in Newmarket Wed. There was a 2007 Ducatti 1000GT on display. Nice bike for 12,900

Nostalgia, Mine was a 1973 Norton 750 Commando, I drove it off the fishing pier at Virginia Beach, not on purpose you know...

I would start riding again if I could find a nice retro style bike like the Norton, something that required a little less maintenance. I'd go for a Royal Enfield but I have heard that they are a little rough in the fit and finish department. Too bad Kawasaki stopped production of the W650.

Manolo, what kind of riding do you do. You mentioned 2 up touring. City commuting too? I think you have to decide if you are for high reving 4 cylinders, or for a big twin. KTM has a new, neat 950 twin adventure bike.

I'm pullin for Lukas (sp) on Supernova. I was glad to see whosit get tossed this week, though secretly I will miss staring at her eyes :p they were very um... trance like when she sang.. I don't know how to describe it!

Now if we can just get lukas to stop turning around all the damn time. They have called him on it twice now. He better figure it out or he is going to piss them off!

whatever happened to cool names for motorcycles,
like the Rudge Multi or the AJS Porcupine or the Velocette Venom
there still must be some cool names out there for the new bikes.

Yeah, she can sing, but I think she is blowing it. One theory is that after she had a chance to play with the whole band the other night, she didnt like them and is intentionally trying to get eliminated.

That's too bad. I haven't seen it recently, but I thought she was (a) the only one with any stage presence and (b) the only one who really understands metal.

The other contestants were choosing songs by bands like Creed to perform -- anyone who knows anything about metalheads knows that metalheads freaking hate Creed.

Dilana's rendition of Ring of Fire totally kicked ass.

ManGo--of course any Harley would be perfect! The new ones are 96 cubic inch and the new CVO springer is super! But on a more reasonable level the new Triumphs are getting rave reviews. The Beemers look good too--saw an R1150R today--nice looking bike.
But I'll stick with my purple HD for a while...

Just bought a Folkboat. All y favorite things seem to be old. My Guzzi LeMans has a cool enough name, so does my Stella

Resurrecting this for you ADD types:

I'm #5 on Henry Scherer's list (sounds like Schindler's list, eh?) and I'm getting goose-pimples thinking about getting my Contaxes back like new.

what say you? Feel free to change the topic any time.

I noticed it was a little slow (except for the M8 threads)... Just having a lazy afternoon at home myself. Had a big dinner with the extended family last night, so I'm still digesting all the wine, pierogi & kapusta.

I think I'm off to visit what's left of our shipping yards here in Adelaide this afternoon... The whole area is under development & when driving past it the other day I noticed much of what was there when I was a kid is now gone... Some things change I guess, even in sleepy Adelaide.

Cheers,

Peter
