Smallest, lightest Leitz 50mm?

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering what the smallest and lightest Leitz lens would be in the 50mm range?

I've only ever had my hands on a Summar, and that is already a pretty small lens, but what about the Elmar or the Summitar? I'm guessing the Summicron is the biggest of them all?

I am guessing that a black modern elmar-M is about the smallest and lightest. much lighter than brass, but the unit is larger overall than the older chrom ones. not that is is enough to matter I dont think.

A old 50mm Elmar f/3.5 is pretty darn small and light.

Definitely the older Elmar 50/3.5. Collapsed, it's little more than a body cap.

the old elmar 50/3,5 (m39, collapsible) is very small, light and quite a good performer, especially the "red-scale elmar".

Possibly the 50/2 Elcan. Designed to be very compact with only 4 elements. Not typically for sale except with collectors as this was made for the US military.

Yes, the 50mm Elcan f2 prototype - but not the military/civilian model.

I have a current copy of the 50mm Elmar (collapsable) and it's a lightweight. I also think it's underrated. I find it to be a very good lens.
