So... what equipment, if any, did you like from this years Photokina?

The Fuji XE1 will have me soul-searching for a while.
Nikon could have kept me on board with a nice DX format wide prime . . . I guess they didn't get my e-mails. I think Nikon is going to let their APS line die a slow death.

The Fuji XF 23 and 56 mm lenses interested me the most. Both are on my 2013 shopping list. I can't wait to see how the new Zeiss XF glass performs.

That's about it for me.

I really liked seeing the Shenhao cameras, the 4x5 is tiny, and I'd like to find the time to give one a try. It's great that cameras like this are still being produced, and at prices which many can afford.

Although we knew of it before Photokina, I really like the DP2M too. The DP1 was my first "real" camera, so I have a soft spot for Sigma. The DP2M looks like the same but with a lot more resolution. The price seems very reasonable too compared to the RX1. I don't care about bokeh, so the smaller sensor does not concern me.

The new Fuji lenses but not planning to buy for a while.. I am actually more interested in the future 27 pancake...

Was disappointed Ricoh did not announce anything for gxr m module..

Gary

yes, the small 27...perfect on the xe1...i think that is where my money will go.

Photokina done come & went? Well I missed it again. The Silvermax film is a big hit for me. I'll have to do a search to see what leica came out with.

New Fuji lenses, new Zeiss lenses, new Samsung lenses, but one need to try them before knowing whether any of them is worth using more than what we already have in our bags.

Neske Led light system seem to have a lot of nice features such as the possibility to dim and change color temperature at will, but, again, who knows, Led light look always like something one should be able to make at home... The usual offering from Elichrom or Profoto (banks, stuff like this, things I'd like to have but are really not breakthrough).

The Sony fantasmagoric cameras, all of them, but I don't need any of them...

No, after all I think there was nothing I really liked...

Adox Silvermax.
:D

Sounds interesting indeed. I think I will drop in at Fotoimpex on Saturday and give it a try.

As for other things at Photokina, the new M seems to have attracted quite a lot of buzz. Seems like an extremely flexible and customizable workhorse for professionals to me. Should be quite interesting for photojournalists. Video, external Mic, weather sealed, rangefinder and EVF, full frame, M mount, potentially huge range of usable lenses, GPS, oh well, not much not to like about the concept. We will see how it works in real life.

The new Plustek 120 scanner. If you're a film shooter and happy to stay as such this was really good news.

No GAS here, but I did like the rx1 and the new M.

RX1 for the potential of other companies to follow suit...
And the new M for the increased versatility without straying too far from its *digital* roots (a la M8/M9).

Lots of interesting stuff:
Leica M
Sony RX1
Sony NEX-6
Fuji X-E1

...and one scary thing from Sweden, made worse by their threat to upholster other Sony cameras as well

I found the Pentax K-5 IIs interesting enough to pre-order one.

Looking forward to playing around with a No AA K-mount camera.

Photokina 2012: Pentax Ricoh has announced its latest flagship DSLRs - the K-5 II and K-5IIs. The 's' version, which costs $100 more, comes without an anti-aliasing filter, to offer higher resolution at the risk of more prominent moiré interference patterns. Both cameras feature 16MP sensors and the weather-sealed magnesium alloy build of the original K-5. The biggest difference is the latest, SAFOX X, autofocus sensor. This is designed to work in lower light than any of its rivals (down to -3EV) it will also provide greater accuracy when working with F2.8 and fast lenses. The SAFOX X also features more sophisticated focus tracking, to keep focus when the subject moves off the original focus point. The K-5 II and IIs also gain rear LCD panels with no air gap between the panel and the protective glass, reducing internal reflections and improving visibility in bright light.
The K-5 II will be available from October at a cost of around $1350/€1099 with 18-55mm WR kit zoom. The K-5 IIs will be available, body-only for around $1300/€1249 - a $100/€250 premium over the standard version.
