This used to be (most of) my S-mount lens line up:

But despite all being excellent performers I found I hardly used the telephoto lenses, and the W-Nikkor 2.5cm F4 vignetted too much for my liking, so they have new homes now. As do the duplicates in the 35mm and 50mm focal lengths. So the kit I currently have (and therefore I suppose my ideal Nikon RF lens kit) is:
Nikkor-O 2.1cm F4 - classic 1960s rendering and very minimal vignetting for a vintage wide angle
W-Nikkor 2.8cm F3.5 - sharp, light, compact, great for B&W film, and works well with the SP finder
W-Nikkor 3.5cm F1.8 2005 - lovely rendering wide open with a nice "glow" and very sharp stopped down
Nikkor-S 5cm F1.4 - I have a good copy! Nice glow wide open and very sharp stopped down
Four lenses. That's it.
Edit: I forgot to add my 1938 uncoated CZ Tessar 5cm F2.8. It works quite well on Nikon RFs - just need to compensate for a little back focus at close distances.

Nikon RF! Well, the perfect kit would be in the 'normal' focal length range as the 1:1 finder is ideal for that, and doesn't brake the bank.

35mm f2.5
50mm millennium
there's a for sale in the classified that fits the bill

I'm happy with the Nikon 50/1.4 & the C/V 25/4 and 12/5,6; sooner or later a 85/2 will follow. Maybe a 35mm will also not be bad.
And about the perfect lens: today on our weekly farmermarket the 25/4 was the perfect lens.

Dont know what the perfect lens kit is - yet. Not for lack of trying though. Old, excess shot of my nikon Rf compatible glass.

Even though this shot was taken a couple of years ago - I still have all of these lenses. At some time I added a 85f2 Sonnar to. Way to many 50f1.4's though. I have been shooting with M's for the last couple of months - but I think August will be another Nikon Rf month. Just need to fill up my Nikon cassettes with appropriate films (XX and Orwo 54 Movie stocks).

I am new to the Nikon RF system, and I have only two lenses:
50/1.4 "Millenium" and CV 21/4.
My back-up is an Amedeo M adapter.
