I miss my 38
I don't even need to see the charts, the results I got from *any* Pen F lenses are beyond doubt.
Say, why haven't we seen any Lumix G1 results with these lovely lenses? don't they make adapter for it?

There is no commercial Pen F adapter yet, but two are imminent. Mine consists of two pieces: the bayonet flange of a Pen F extension ring, and micro 4/3 bayonet designed for a telescope mount.
The Pen lenses are a perfect fit for the G1...small (very), light, fast, sharp, excellent bokeh...and much closer focus than adapted RF lenses. I sold a Nokton 40/1.4 and went with the Pen 40/1.4 instead...great sharpness, better bokeh, and 14" close focus blows the Nokton away.
The 38/1.8 is also a great lens, as are all the Pen lenses.

Here is a 38mm and a 100mm compared to the G1 kit lens. (For what it's worth, I paid $17 for the 38mm and $62 for the 100mm from KEH. Killer sharp lenses for peanuts.)

I vouch for the 38mm 1.8 lens. It is a very sharp lens.

Regarding processing, in my experience it was never a problem until you asked about it.
If you did, they wouldn't know what half frame was, and would have to ask someone, and then they knew what it was but not whether the machine could do it etc. etc. and before you knew it 15 minutes had passed or they decided just to tell you it wasn't possible to avoid the hassle.
I had the most success simply dropping the film off at one of those places where the film goes in an envelope and you don't talk to anyone. I just wrote half frame on it and they always came back as single pictures without any trouble at all.

That is amazing! Although I am not the least surprised that the Pen FT lenses feels "at home" with the G1, after all, they are designed from the beginning and optimized to cover smaller area of film/sensor.
Man, we all can kiss goodbye the low price of the Pen FT primes when the GAS powered G1 owners realize this. :bang:

Maybe it's good I bought my pancake 38/2.8 when I did. Just arrived in the mail yesterday...
Methinks you are right, once the commercial adapters are out, demand is going to be high for the Pen lenses...they are actually a much better match than M mount lenses.

i suppose the 38mm is the best standard lens. i own the 42mm and it's a quite weighty lens with a fairly low contrast (wide open). btw: it was sold on ebay for 560 usd (!!!) a few days ago.
