I decided to give Norton's Motel its own page, since I have eight photos of it online, and several more to scan and edit.

I have wanted to photograph this line of pine trees for a couple of years, but did not see the light that I wanted until this foggy morning last week. These trees stand alongside a farmer's driveway on Winchester Road, just south of Interstate 469 in southeast Allen County, Indiana.

I shot this one the same foggy morning as the one in my previous post. This is just down the road from the one in my last post.

I photographed this house Monday evening, all decorated for Christmas, in the small Adams County town of Peble, Indiana. It was getting dark when I made the long exposure that captured the motion of the American flag blowing in the wind.
The cat on the porch was a stray that the house's owner was feeding. She kept moving in the middle of the exposure, forcing me to redo the photograph several times. This is the only one on the roll where the cat didn't move and blur her rendition on the film!

Minor technicality-- the second American flag had fifteen stars and fifteen stripes! After that they realized that adding stripes would make the flag too busy so they returned to thirteen stripes for all following flags.

The big barn at an abandoned farm on Till Road in northwest Allen County. Like so many old barns in rural Indiana, this one is adorned with a basketball hoop.

Really good pics here, what is amazing is what looks like a TV antenna on top of the barn. Maybe at some stage somebody living there.

Simple and effective.

Its a broken lightning rod. All the old barns around here have them, and many of them are bent over like this one.

This abandoned building was in Fort Wayne's inner-city. Doesn't look very open to me! It has been torn down.

Fort Wayne has some "nice" neighborhoods, but they aren't very interesting. Blind conformity rules this place, and the "nice" neighborhoods are filled with cookie-cutter McMansions.

Based on your great work I am going to try some Fuji acros. Keep the great images coming, Chris. In addition to your fine photography skills, you also have talent as an author.
Best regards,

Thanks, Kent!
Here's another from my archives:

This was my father's bike when he was a kid. As long as I can remember it has rusted away on the big junk pile in grandpa's backyard. I photographed it about 15 years ago.

Another from the abandoned house with the dress in the attic. This is the dining room.

I made this ten years ago, but it is still one of my best.

The old doghouse behind my grandpa's house. It was already ancient when I photographed it back in the 1990s, when I was in high school.

Its been a while since I've added anything new. Been a bad week, I got sick on Christmas Eve, and am still not over it, and have been worried about how I'm going to pay my bills. I have just gotten some commercial work that will take care of my money issues for now, but I am still pretty sick. This photo is probably what got me sick, standing out in the freezing cold! I shot it on Christmas Eve.
The land in front of this partially demolished abandoned farmhouse is filled with old broken-down semi-truck trailers, many of them with famous names like Pepsi. This is on County Road 1050N, just west of County Road 450W, in Adams County, Indiana.
