Regardless, I feel your pain.....it definitely sucks to have something stolen from you.
 
Did you have renters insurance at all? I had my apartment broken into last year (stole my camera and some other things) and it was all covered by my renters insurance.

With you being in college you should be able to get some insurance through the college (at usually a good price) to cover all of your belongings (up to 5,000 worth i believe).
 
Sorry to hear about your loss, I hope they catch the bar-steward(s) and you can recover your possessions.

I do so hate it when people can't keep their hands off someone's hard-earned property. The thought of it alone puts me in a violent mood.

No, it wasn't stolen. But it wasn't what they came for. And I cant report that, so I would have some sort of moral and probably legal issue if I half reported a burglarly.

Well, I'd move whatever they came for somewhere else then call the police.

But that's my way of doing things. Sorry you lost a good camera. I hope you get another good one soon.

They got what they came for me, I just am pissed off. The police wont do anything, it's Pittsburgh, since the semester started my friends have gotten run over by a car and killed, jumped, robbed, mugged, put in comas, and shot. It's not worth the attention anyways, I'll just make sure I dont get fired anytime soon and buy a new one :bang:
 
I may be totally off base here, but how many thieves nowadays know that an old metal camera with "Leica" on top as a worthy loot?

Maybe someone you know may have an idea on who the thieves are? I mean it's college, people know a lot more people than average.

I'd guess it was someone I know judging from what else was taken. And anyone that knows me has had some considerable babbling about my Leica

Haha the area is a hole, Oakland is U of Pitt's home and it's full of lower class families, immigrants, and rowdy college students. The Hill is right next to us. It's quite a place
