this thread gives me hope...for a few things...the least of which is maybe we can continue this thread for awhile and see what comes of it. i like all kinds of photography just as i like all kinds of music...but some more so than others...'street' has always been my love from the day i got my first good camera and had to figure out what i wanted to shoot till today.
 
It is a bit disappointing that folks seem to have a hard time sticking to the OPs original suggestion...

Well, it seems from the photos posted, "street" is generally defined by photographers on the RFF as "public," more than the literal sense of being on a sidewalk or stoop.

Personally I consider the miles of underground walkways in the subways as streets I travel, have coffee while on them, and even shop.
 
My comment was not aimed at content so much as the number of photos per poster. The OP asked for "an image" that represents what you think "street" is.
 
Regarding the amount of frames shown per person posting or the choice of their frame they present?
