I'll post here when I get it. Either way, the line of tape around a 40.5 type of hood doesn't seem like a bad idea either, I don't rest my camera on the hoods, only on the backs.

yes it did

But I don't know that each and every one will be an exact fit, it might be YMMV. I gave mine away when I sold my Summarit.

You can also look for a "Tiffen #611" Series VI adapter ring for the Summarit. I use a Tiffen Series VI vented hood with my Summarit. They pop up on Ebay and at camera shows. Memorizing the numbers is the hard part, and most sellers do not know what they fit.

Thank you Brian, I checked on ebay, nothing yet but I saved the search. Also the seller of the lens is looking for a 41mm->something standard adapter, crossing my fingers

Andy, I have the Summarit hood-not very practical. Anyway, I picked up an old 41mm Walz filter, removed the glass, bought a 40.5 mm hood off ebay. Anyway, the 40.5 came very close to threading in to the filter. A little epoxy for security and I had a practical screw in Summarit hood. No vignetting and you can use the screw in filters. Stu

I am happy to report that the Cameraquest 41mm screw-in hood (with cap) fits my Summarit like a glove. The hood protrudes very very little into the vf of the RD1.
