Summaron 35mm f2.8

I've frequently seen the opinion expressed that the 2.8 summaron is an excellent black and white lens. This seems to imply that it would not be some people's first choice for colour. I think it's OK in this area and can - depending on subject - produce some painterly results. Anybody agree or differ? Attached is a shot using the lens on an M6 TTL with Kodak E100G slide film. Straight scan with levels adjusted.

35mm f2.8 summaron M-mount in color:

Great stuff! May I ask which film?

I don't use the Summaron for color often enough because I love the BW results so much that I never feel the urge...but your pictures tempt me to try a few more emulsions!

So many great shots here. I just saw a 3.5 Summaron for sale. (Prices of 2.8 have been skyrocketing.) Is this image quality wise a 2.8 without the extra stop? Do the 2.8 and 3.5 deliver similar images on the stops from 3.5?

I got the non-goggeled ”M” version and it was just the other day that I learned that it could be converted to m39-mount by unscrewing that little screw, now I can use it on my Leica III too 😀
