Summicron-C 40mm bokeh

The summi 40-c is one of my fav lenses i shot this whole series (mad india) with exclusively that lens as it only cost me at the time about $250 so i wasn't worried about losing it. I'm glad i still have that lens.

Its funny thou as i think i have more fun with that lens on my beater m4-p then i do with any other camera, i just don't think about the camera as much.

check the link, those are all shot with a leica cl and the summicron 40. film i used was tri-x (at box speed) and developed with diafine. those are about 2 years old and i was just starting. i think this might be from my first two rolls 🙂 i am pretty sure the lens is wide open at f2 and shutter speed was at 30 on most shots as those were all low light situations.
i really lucked out with this set up. it was/is very simple and very effective and it is still the camera that is always in my bag as it is light and just disappears in your hand.

i have since shot with a few other lenses (50 summilux, 50 dr summicron, 50 collapsible summicron and a 28 elmarit-m) and one other body (m6 ttl with .58 finder) and i am actually thinking of finding another one of those summicron 40 and having it modified so it'll bring the 35 frame on the m6.

i really like the results with the 40. once the negatives are scanned i don't need to spend hours (i guess i could) on something that i'll be happy with.

i haven't tried any of the other 40's out there but the 40 cron is a real gem. it's a very meat and potatoes kinda lens. it does its job and it does it really well.

this newbie's two cents for what they're worth.
