Hi,
I am very new to RFF, my first post here or on any forum.
If I screw up let me know.
I was wondering is an early 1st version 35mm steel rim for collectors or shooters?

With asking prices running the gamut from 3k to 17k USD I say these days they have become more for collectors.

The pre-asph 35mm Summilux, steel rim version or not, can produce some of the most pleasing OOF areas in photos by most discriminating photographer's standards.

Shame that great tools like this become shelf queens for well heeled collectors.

I use my "non-steel-rim" pre-asph more than any other lens. It used to be my Rigid Summicron 50/2, but the extra coverage by the Lux fits me better for travels.
