I just purchased this black Summitar UV screw-in filter GHIOO. The glass has a faint green tint. Is this normal? Will it impart any tint to color photos? Also, how far do I need to stop down?
Thanks.

Bob, yes I know UV filters are usually clear - I have several. However, this one has a green tint, even though it is clearly labled "UV" on the filter itself. Strange...

JKelly...It's possible that because Summitar filters, which are very hard to find because they are tapered, that someone before you removed the UV filter and replaced it with the one now in the filter housing...I have done that myself; I've removed yellow filters and replaced them with UV filters...regards, bob cole
