jkelly... uv filters are clear glass...you don't have to adjust the f-stop for it, so the best way to check it is to use it...regards, bob cole

Bob, yes I know UV filters are usually clear - I have several. However, this one has a green tint, even though it is clearly labled "UV" on the filter itself. Strange...

JKelly...It's possible that because Summitar filters, which are very hard to find because they are tapered, that someone before you removed the UV filter and replaced it with the one now in the filter housing...I have done that myself; I've removed yellow filters and replaced them with UV filters...regards, bob cole

Bob, someone on PNet told me that their Leitz Summitar UV filter also has a green tint, so I'll just assume it to be normal. Thanks, Jack
