Help! I bought a Summitar off the 'bay and the glass looks great... but it doesn't focus so well on my M8
I got a decent price on it... so I'm thinking of sending it off to DAG and just getting it fixed. I need to call him on monday to find the price... But I wanted some opinions first. Is this a common problem, easy to fix? Or should I just return the lens.
Thanks!
Ben

This might be to obvious, but once I forgot to lock my Summitar in correct position and the resulting negs were very soft. Normally the lens is sharp.
Just a thought to make sure you locked the lens correctly once you opened it up.

Thanks Leo! I did make sure it was locked, and it's not just 'soft'... out of focus by a couple of feet!

... likes film again.
The Summitar is screw-mount and the M8 is m-mount ... Which adapter do you use ? Did you test other screw-mount lenses with your M8 ?

nope... Adapter works fine with my 50mm nokton... I tried another ltm adapter, too, also cv, and it worked fine as well
it's the only lens i've had a problem with.
