Hello all,

Need help: I can find no mention of the filter thread size for the Zeiss Taxona. Specifically, I bought one with the Novonar Anastigmat, although I would suppose it to be the same size filter as the Tessar lens.

There's no mention of it in the manual, and the one thread asking about it here on RFF had zero replies.

Help? Anybody?

I found 3 references to the Zeiss Taxona with novar lens that states 18.5 screw on.

Perhaps you can measure the opening and figure out between neezee's findings and mine, your filter size.

Did a search in German and found this:

Seems to be a 24mm slip-on ("Aufsteck") type. No idea if that's true, though. I'd measure the outer diameter to see if that's plausible.

And in this forum they talk about an inner thread of 18.5mm for the Tessar.

This is good info. Probably both are true: option of either 24mm slip on or 18.5mm screw in. I'll start keeping my eyes open, although I'm none too confident that I'll easily find any. Thanks, fellas!

I think that brings the conversation nicely to this topic: where the heck could I find any filters? Just looking for a red, but I'd settle for a yellow. Any tips? :/

If you look on picclick.co.uk (it searches ebay but gives all the results on one page) you can sometimes get 18.5mm thread filters. At present there are a Carl Zeiss light Yellow and a carl zeiss light green, I can't tell if they have front threads though.
