I'm not finding a lot of info on any of the lenses made by Taylor-Hobson/Cooke these days. Mainly I'd like to find out more about the 50mm f1.4 (2"?) lens? Also, anyone know what other lenses they made in ltm mount?

Thanks,

Many thanks. Is it safe to assume that the 2"/50mm f1.4 or f1.5's are bogus then?

Taylor,Taylor & Hobson of Leicester England made the following lenses in LTM.
1) 2" (approx.50mm) f2 Anastigmat (for Reid camera)
2) 75mm f2 Panchro (for Military use).
3) 90mm f2.3 Deep Field Cooke .
* 2) & 3) are extremely rare.
They also made the 2" f2 Cooke Amotal for the B&H Foton camera, many of which were re-mounted in Italy in LTM fitting, when sales of the Foton failed.
The daughter company of T,T & H (the National Optical Company) produced a 2" f2 National which was a different optical design to 1) above, and they also produced the 105mm f3.5 Trinol.

I believe that the Leica Summitar 50mm F1.5 was an optical design licensed by Leica from Taylor. I also seem to recall that some of the Summitars are marked Taylor or Taylor/Hobson. Perhaps that is the fast 50mm you are thinking of. Maybe someone else can supply some details on this.

This is one of those LTM remounted TTH 2 inch f/2 anastigmats.

The Xenon and later the early 5cm f/1.5 Summarit lens destined for USA and UK had to be marked with the TTH and/or the US Pat number. The licensing issue was apparently resolved in 1950-51.
