Teleconverter for the X100/X100s. 50mm Equiv.

All: I have read all of the reactions to the tele-converter, but I do not see feedback from any usage of it. Reason I mention it, mine just came in the mail and I have it on my x100. Yeap, it adds enough length to un-do the stealthy-ness aspect of the x100 but I can live with that.
Any user feedback regarding any tips or opinions of the quality? I got it from B&H who have a very fair return policy thus if it turns out that its not working for me, Ill know very soon and I'll ship it back for re-fund but I do not imagine that happening… Daniel.

update- even though i never use the built in flash- i couldn't… creates a quarter moon looking shadow in the image

Furthermore, having an XP and lenses -could the X100 and the two adapters be a happy replacement, or at least a companion that doesn't sit unused?

although it really is a bit slower than changing a bayonet lens, the sensor is not exposed, which can be a big advantage on the street.

I have the WCL and am considering the TCL. I like the WCL a lot, even though it makes thing a tad wider it makes a relevant difference. Regarding the TCL I am still not sure... I mean, will I get any dof difference using the adapter vs shooting with the fixed lens and cropping afterwards, thus, from the same point?

What I do to speed adding/removing the WCL is using the hood adapter and then an UV filter. it's faster to remove this and toss into the WCL bag and just change lenses.

I worry that with the TCL It'd be more of a hassle instead of a benefit... but being able to travel with the X100s/t only sounds nice.

I also have an X-E2 with 14 and 35, so the 50mm field of view would be doubled.

Anyone went though a similar scenario?

I've just bought the TCL-100 in black for my X100s and I'm heading out to Edinburgh to do a bit of street photography to try it out. So far, I feel the lens adds some stability to the camera as it gives a larger handhold. I wanted the silver one but when I got it out of the box I found I had been sold the black version. I think it's more practical so I'll keep it.

It would be great to see a variety of distances and apertures used.

It would have been great to have some with the tiny writing in all of the four corners at f: 2.0
And of cause some in colour also at 2.0 with tree branches and some with skin tones.
All with the clear statement, that they're out of the box.
But thank you for your pictures, also because one can look at full resolution 🙂 I wonder where else on flickr to find such teleconverter photos.

there seems to be something wrong with those images as they are out of focus but the originals are not so they are not representative of the out of camera shots. I've tried to delete them but that seems to not happen.

You may need to upload the images to flickr and link them.
They are too small to view as direct uploads to the forum.
I can't zoom in enough to see if they are focussed before they pixalte out.

Your latest flickr posts are great, Macjim 🙂 It is surprising to see, that your last one (Three) was shot fully open, because the depth of field is so deep. Never mind, I like it because it is frontal and there are structures to look at in the corners in max. resolution.

What I would realy like, would be to see a few in colour 🙂 I know you only like b/w but it would be great help to learn more about the teleconverter. Second thing would be to post them uncropped (full 3:2, so visible corners) frontal shots again and being positive that the apperture is fully open.
