As an aside...I own the Gaga book in question. It looks like he shot concerts/backstage with a D2X and a strobe, and candids with a m4/3 like a Panasonic GF series...there are a couple of selfies in there.
It's a fairly large-format book...the D2X and GF1(?) files hold up nicely...another nail in the coffin for upgrade GAS 🙂

Roger, how is it libel? He was convicted and sent to prison by the state of Virginia for drugging a 19 year old woman, and having sex with her dead body after she died of drug overdose. He was given a long enough prison sentence that he will never live long enough to be released. He has repeatedly appealed his convictions and has lost every one.

He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, which is not quite the same thing. As for the sentence, he'd have got less time for plain murder. This was a prurient reaction against a fool, by small-town reactionaries. Yes, he was a fool: but over 30 years in prison?
All right, I've known him for 25+ years, and, as I say, he was a fool. and as you say, he was convicted. Even so, with my lawyer's hat on. I'd still recommend withdrawing that statement. Addendum: I may however be overreacting in favour of someone who was a friend for many years.

PKR.. I like your posts for the most part. You keep a keen eye on Photographers rights (or the infringement of those rights).
A thread to bash a pro photg no matter what anyone thinks of him is across the line of sensible imo.
He makes his money creating smoke for those that are creating fires.
It's just another way of getting regular folks to come see what's burning.
If the guy is not a legitimate photographer ok he's not. I can't say for sure that I'm qualified to judge. He may just be a sensationalist that holds a camera.
He does what he does and is in demand enough to demand big bucks. There is some service he is rendering to do so.
OK, he does not measure up to Legends of photography while still eclipsing those same legends in earning.
Who can fault the guy for creating a market for himself. His Vulgarity is only outdone by many if not most of his subjects.
There is such a thing as free will. Nobody has to behave like a fool for Terry's Camera.

Not sure if I consider them victims. Terry hasn't been charged with anything to the best of my knowledge.
I mean if he really did abuse women then no I don't condone that and he deserves whatever is coming to him.
But people lie all the time, especially in the industry.

Did you read the part about the stylist who watched him 'sexually abuse' two east european women who didn't speak english, then had to quit for a while to deal with the shame she felt for not stopping him?
I can't wait til somebody calls me a prude, or blames the victims. It looks to me like there is a certain population of photographers who are looking to abuse women, using photography as a means to do so, and try to play it off when this gets attention. Big news, I know, but it seems a good thing to point out before we all get too cool huh?

Richardson's actions call any of our (pro photographers) actions into question. What he does and the way he does it, gives us all a bad name. I don't like having to defend the actions of another photographer - something I have no control over. He's a weed that needs removal.
