That 35mm/1.2 Beast

Stu,

The 35/1.2 is a full stop and a half faster than a 35/2! If you want fast and not a lot more size, look at the 40/1.4 CV. IMHO, great price for great glass. I was lusting after the 35/1.2 for a while. Great filter size (52mm), sharp, very fast, everything I wanted in a lens. But when the 40/1.4 came out, I jumped on one and never regrated it yet. It's a lot smaller and not too much slower.

Thats what I'm really interested in. CQ has a picture of one mounted, but its a pretty funky angle, so its kinda hard to tell.

I don't believe Gandy has a storefront, does he? I wish Freestyle carried Voigltander gear, then I could just go down there and check it out.

I would really appreciate that, thanks!

Just to maintain the gas . . :)

Just to maintain the gas . . :)

Getting more and more used to this lens, and as I see it the fun part is from 1,2 to 2,8 or so, so I`ll stay there ..

Just another everyday shot, having a coffee with a friend of mine, and she is a photographer too, sometimes its more convenient to be on the other side of the camera.

vha.

Tec : Kodak bw400cn at 1/60 and 1,2 (or was it 1,4 ?), with a M6, even a black one ;)

I have the 35 Ultron (happy with it, but I love speed) and I keep thinking about the Nokton. The few opinions I can find suggest the two lenses are comparable in the apertures they share. Any experience?

I just got this lens a little while ago. I haven't had much opportunity to put it to work, but seeing your shot, vha, has got me looking forward to it. Very nice.

:)

I have two 1.2 Lightsuckers, the Canon 1.2 and the Minolta MC Rokkor 1.2, I prefer the 50mm focal length. I have the 35 Ultron, butI'd like to test drive the 35 1.2 at some point. Quite a difference between 1.7 and 1.2, if you need it, you need it.

Does anyone have a photo of this lens mounted on an M body?

On an M7. I have a .85, and it doesn't cut in to the viewfinder much. I'm very used to the size since I use a 75 'lux all the time. The nokton 35 is about the same size but half the weight.

the red chain is close to original colour, it is those cheapo plastic one. looks ugly but is close to the original as I saw it.

I am dreaming for a M8 now...

Mean thing to do!

Mean thing to do!

I keep dreaming about this lens, even though I don't shoot night scenes much anymore, I still want it. Those street scenes even though focused at 30 feet or so show the shallow depth of field. It is nice to isolate the focus in the closeups.

Summi, you are killing us.

Great stuff.

It is the photographer, not the lens, it is the photographer, not the lens. Keep repeating that (and I still want this lens).
