My GSN had a rather sickly POD 😱 which I finally got around to replacing tonight.

Now I'll have to go out and shoot a roll with it...😎

it's a fun to open the electros.
Did you remove the pad in a small oparation with only opening the topplate,
or did you dismantel the lens?

I removed the lens unit to gain access. The pad was so bad I had to clean it off where it is glued and where it makes contact.

Even before replacement the camera was working as it should..

Sometimes warming the 'leather' makes it more pliable and thus easier to remove without the likelihood of tearing.
I use a gas soldering iron with a hot air only attachment (a tube thing) and carefully warm up the covering. It seems to soften the glue too. Care is needed but I didn't need to say that... 🙂
