Is it just me or are those shots full of JPG artifacts from some resizing?

I like this one. I'm just curious about the vignette.

I think they are extremely sharpened, which is causing that "stepped" edges. The way it's showing up is not really because of over compression of jpeg (although you'll have to watch out for that, too.)
Nikkor AIS,
Did you get the digital image (scan) from labs? They might have over-sharpened quite a bit. (it's quite typical) If you had your friend do the scanning/preparing the digital image for posting, ask him/her to do much less sharpening. He/she will get it.
Keep up the good work!

Taken with a Leica M3 and the 15 Voigtlander @ F 8/11 on Ektar.
Thanks for the heads up on the over-sharpening, guys. I'm seeking enlightenment through failure
As far as the vignette on the Leica 50 1.0 Noctilux, I don't know what to say. It's very pronounced in some situations. I think it could be because I was using a 60-mm polarizer to cut light back and allow me to shoot at F 1.0. Now I'm using a 8x B+W filter that finally came in. I used it for this shot and it seems to vignette somewhat less although I still get very strong vignetting under some conditions.

Taken with the same lens and ND filter

I agree with everyone--the sharpening and jpeg artifacts are just horrible. I recommend doing your resizing with IrfanView at 100% quality for web posting--it does a great job.
The pictures themselves, though, are quite good! I am really envious of that Noctilux...those pics are really distinctive...I love my Nokton 1.1 but its character is rather subdued by comparison.
Thanks for getting rid of the copyright text!

It's funny, when I process them I'm not sharpening at all. And when they get e-mailed they acquire the funky sharpening. Kat has told me she is working on a solution:angel:. I'll pass the resizing thing along to her. Thanks for the tip and the kind words about the shots. Not so much about the artifacts

I'm not sure why you're emailing them anywhere, but whatever you're uploading them to is executing some major data compression to them automatically.

Great shot Erik. But if you're going to come to this party, you need to bring your artifacts
.
I don't know, I don't think they look that bad
especially the E6/C-41 cross-processing ones. You will note I paid special attention to the colour balance on this one
.

Taken with Leica M7 and 15 Voigt with E6 cross-processed in C41.
