The Hassy' Posse...

I absolutely adore my 503cx.

I use a mix of 80mm and 50mm lenses.

Been pushing Tri-X to 1600 in D76 lately with good results.

I just bought this 500c and haven't got the negs developed yet, but the photos everyone is posting sure are encouraging!

I never, ever thought I'd own a Hasselblad. Thought they were strictly upmarket studio cameras for fashion photographers and amateur posers. But I saw this one on auction at a great price w/ the 80 lens and figured if I didn't like I could always sell it and get my money back. Why not give it a try?

Took me forever to figure out all the ways you can jam or otherwise lock and unlock it up, but the moment I held it in the palm of my hand and looked down into the finder I knew I wouldn't be selling it. Perfect balance. It's great on the street too, and not just a studio camera at all. I just love it. Best camera I'll probably ever own. Even the shutter/mirror slap that sounded so loud initially now sounds perfect.

I love mine too. They're definately not just a studio camera. I use mine for portraits outdoors and landscapes and architecture. Now you need more lenses!

Just back from the Petaluma America Graffiti closed street event.
Carrying a chrome trimmed Hasselblad, I felt in character with the classic '60s cars that were cruising around.

No bag, no accessories - just a few rolls of film in my pocket and the camera over my shoulder.
Hanging vertically on the superb anti-slip rubber woven standard strap, it's a really comfortable, well balanced, walk about camera that doesn't bounce around.

There's no need for a tripod with the 110mm f/2 wide open @1/1000s 😀
My only Blad that NEEDs a tripod is the flex-body - that camera is a right royal pain to use.

Street attempt

Trying to learn both development and scanning... Here`s my attempt at shooting with the Hasselblad in the streets of Oslo, Norway.

Excellent thread with exquisite shots. I can hardly resist the urge to buy one of these, but I made a vow to myself that I will work on improving my exposure and developing skills in (cheaper) 35mm format for at least half a year (or one whole year if I`d be abe to resist for so long) and then buy a Hassie for myself (also it will be a reward after finishing my university studies which, I hope, I shall accomplish in the beginning of 2011). Meanwhile, keep pictures coming, I`m always eager to see magnificent works of art from the Hassies and Zeiss lenses.
