I've lost the little hood for a Summar that I got from an Ebay seller called something like 'Jack the Hat'. Has anyone got his details? It was an excellent and cheap solution.
Kit that I have lost so far this year includes said lens hood, the Leica 1.25 magnifier for my M, an eyesight correction lens and a shutter release ring from a III. It is still only July...
Hi,
The lens hood was a 34mm screw in and this might be it:-

I bought one years ago but can't find the original paperwork with it.

The FLQOO is the best, then the FOOKH and the FISON. Unfortunately these shades are very expensive at the moment.
I do not recommend the FIKUS. It is top heavy and wil not fit well, keeps falling off all the time.

HU: There's a user FLQOO for sale in the RFF classifieds right now (not by me): http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost-classifieds/showproduct.php/product/47694

Home-made FLQOO: SOOGZ with 12549 screw-in hood (for the 50/2.8 Elmar-M).
Even better than a FLQOO, since you can screw in an E39 filter between adapter and hood, and you can stick a standard A42 push-on cap on the front.

For those on a budget, let me share what may be the cheapest option to get a 34mm uv filter + hood for the summar at just US$ 8.95 with free shipping.

I pop the glass off the warming filter and screw on the rim as a hood. The rim is 7mm thick so it works very nicely as a small hood. For me it is enough to keep fingers off the glass and act as a bumper.

Anyone know from experience whether a Summar (pre-war) will safely collapse on an M9?
