yup....finally I ordered a new 35mm f1.2 from Scott-Sydney-Mainline photography, I can't wait to lay my hand on it in 6 days...yay!

Hmmm.. I wonder who is getting the other Nokton 35mm f1.2 that is supposed to be arriving next Thursday? Spoke to Scott this evening about the Nokton and he told me that 2 were on order. I may have to make that 3...

Scott is a wonderful friend and businessman, who I have only the very best things to say about. He jumped through a few hoops to find a Collapsible Heliar 50mm f3.5 for me, which is residing in his safe until I get back to the big smoke.

Don't want to take over this thread but thanks for the info on scanning regular black and white negatives. I read or heard somewhere that scanning C41 films was easier and that the grain in b&w films could cause some difficulty. I guess I am going to have to do some research on scanning as I prefer to develop the film myself and go from there.

Don't know how many miles of Tri-X I used up in college and during a short career as a photojournalist but we got to be pretty good at getting it up to ISO 1600-3200.

So can anyone suggest a good book or website with information about scanning. I am still pretty good in a chemical darkroom but totally new to scanning and then printing it digitally. Any reference would be really appreciated.

Well Fedex just dropped off my Nokton from KEH. First impression is well built and very smooth but it looks like a monster on my M especially compared to the 35f2.5.

So I must take it out for a test drive and will post impressions after I get the film back.

Wow, congratz, I searched so many times on KEH for this lense without any lucks, so I opted to buy it brand new..lol

grats on the lenses

does it bother anyone else that it somehow just does not feel very tight on the m6 and r3a? if you turn it, it will "jump" a bit, like it's not perfectly in the mount

anyone else have that experience?

Mine feels tight on all my cameras - Hexar, Bessa. When I had m6 - it was tight there too.

Mine moves a tiny bit on the mount when I turn the focusing ring fast (probably because the ring is rather tight). That happens on the Zeiss Ikon body, but not on the Leica M4 or M6TTL that I have. Perhaps the ZI tolerance is a bit less strict. The lens is a wonder though.

yap, same for me.
mine moves on the ZI as well.
same goes for the hexar and r4m when i had those
i tape a small piece of gaffer beneath the mount, so stops the movement.
