Great shame that he no longer posts anymore seemed like a good guy.
I have no idea what I was thinking when I did this.

OK OK, is he dead or not? What's going on. He was a good guy (IMHO). Just spit it out. I mean; Keith 'in the sky.' Gosh, I hope he is OK, just not posting anymore. Be more specific.
LOL ... sorry I didn't mean to give you the impression he was deceased ... I was being facetious!
Characters like Pitxu seem to be doomed to rapid extinction around here IMO ... I really liked the guy and without his enthusiastic gallery input and other impassioned personality traits we descend into a somewhat grey environment.
YMMV of course!

Yep, a good casserole needs some salt; stops it getting too bland

Pixtu was a favorite of mine here. I liked the humour in all those self-portraits. I appreciated all his work on the Monday favorites thread, his excellent photography, and the fact that he helped encourage discussion of photography around here rather than just talk of equipment. Pixtu, if you read this, know you are missed!
Absolutely agree. I noticed he had not posted recently and got a little
worried at the first posts
best of luck to him.
Thanks

Richard and I have emailed a few times this past month. I respect his privacy and don't ask him why he left or anything like that, but I will pass on a note that he is duly missed here at RFF in the next few days. He might be back.

An Undesirable
Glad to hear Richard isn't quite ready for a memorial just yet. I for one, despite not having much time to peruse the gallery in recent months, will miss his excellent self portraits and rather beguiling landscapes which I always think show an incredibly comfortable solitude.
Hopefully he will return at some point once the dust has laid itself thickly over whatever incident there was.
There are several members that rarely seem to make an appearance anymore that I miss, even if I we weren't always PM'ing one another.

Thank you for this.

Given the price they charged for that one it should tie itself.
I’ve worn day-bows for so long now I struggle to tie an ordinary four-in-hand.

I didn't know he was gone although I had noticed he wasn't posting - sad news indeed. I hope he returns one day, the forums are all the poorer without him

How many is enough?
No disrepect meant, but it's happened before with his type of posting or personality, or what have you. The "let it fly and lay it all out there and damn the consequences" people usually burn themselves out and either have to go away because of all the scorched earth and hard feelings left behind or at least get away for a while to recharge their own batteries. I too, hope he returns.

It's much more digital greyscale on here without P.

I have an idea!
If we can track down the marketing genius within Epson who convinced them that it was a sound idea to re-release the RD-1s as the RD-1X ... he shouldn't have too much trouble coaxing Pitxu back to the forum!

Keith, I guess I'm out of it. Are they releasing the RD-1s(X)? That would be great. I also have to say I will miss Pitxu way more than Ash.

Excellent series of selfies, Stewart. You've got a good start on taking up Pitxu's mantle, if you choose to do so.
I also miss Pitxu. Damn good photographer, he is. I must say, I admire your photos also. And your travel itinerary....
I've noticed an interesting phenomenon about self portraits. I may not like them when I first see them, but 5 years later, they don't look so bad. I think they call it the "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" syndrome.

nice one, andrew! very ominous, film-noir look ... paranoia ... "what's that noise? who's there????" ... "where did I put my tinfoil hat????"
