That's the nice thing about the larger format. What appears to be small logs resting on the banks of the Zambezi, actually have legs, eyes and teeth!

Also, the view from atop of a slippery precipice is the best.

thanks for the encouragement🙂- it's the fuji gw690ii. Found some cheap slightly outdated 220-type slide film, e100G and GX (my favourite slide), turned out to be still very very good...
this is scanned on my epson v700 at only 1200 dpi.
The slides look amazing.
The wind was blowing from the falls, we got soaked in a matter of minutes, it was hard to keep the lens spotfree.

if i didnt have fujia gl690 i wouldnt believe it. fujica really cuts through the emulsion like scrib jelly. a very fantasy like picture. love it

Great shots. MF slides have a fascination that is hard to beat. They look so great compared to 35mm. Of course, the Fuji lenses are superb. Please show more.

4x5 LF slides only make sense if you have a dedicated film scanner for that particular format, meaning you have to invest into an Imacon X5 or a drum scanner.

6x9 with Fuji lenses and a Nikon Coolscan 9000 are a perfect match for 90% of the tasks. For the ultra large prints on a Lambda or Lightjet you can have the few slides professionally scanned with a drum scanner.

An excellent 6x9 scanned at 4.000 ppi delivers a higher resolution and tonal range (-> higher Dmax) than a 4x5 scanned at 1.200 ppi on a flatbad.

.... Imacon X5 is way out of my (financial) abilities, the Coolscan 9000 is on my wish-list ...

So far I scan everything (135 and 120 -6x6-) with an Epson V700, well knowing its limitations. It would be interesting to see, what the Epson V700 can produce from a 4x5, mounted onto the glass plate without a film holder.

My friends were already making fun of me, that there is in fact a small digital camera i put INSIDE my oversized fuji gw, that takes the pictures.

(these were made at the Iguassu falls, in south of Brazil. Was lucky enough to go there for my work.)
