the x-pro size...

I used to use the thumbs up with my M cameras, but since I like to wear my camera around my neck, it poked into my chest too much. Some shirts got ripped and my chest started to hurt there since I have no muscles. :)

Hahahaaha ... Great one...

A few minutes in the gym and a TU would make your life much better :) :) :)

Any trouble with the lensmate and the hotshoe? I vaguely remember someone having problems with it on IIRC an X100. I've been reticent to try it for this reason.

Thumbs up's first versions had the set screw and they eliminated them from the later versions.

If there was any trouble, I think it came from people tightening the set screw too much.

Same would apply to the Lensmate ones.

I have big strong hands, so I never feel like any of the cameras need a grip. With M it was because I was used to holding the film rewind lever that I thought it would be a good idea. Now I'm over it after using digital for many years. I was kidding about the no muscle thing... but it did rip my shirts and caused my camera to hang strange around my neck.

Talking to u can be a bad thing :(.

I just found a deal on a used xe1 w/ the zoom..

I am normally not a zoom person, but for that price I will give the zoom a try. I finally broke down and picked up the 14 today as well.

Gary

The used xe1 kit came in today along w/ the 14. It came in as we were going to leave for a walk around the local lake. It's in pretty good condition.. LN. Did not even have the eyelet or strap on it. Anyway put the zoom on and went for the walk. Handles pretty well. Zoom is pretty good but not in same league as the primes, but that is expected. A heck of a lot better than the Sony Nex or Nikon kit zooms. I think I may keep it mainly for vacation time.

The 14 is sweet!!!! I can't wait for the 27 to come ship. The 27 pancake on the xe1 body would make a small package, about the same size as the x100 I would hope.

the zoom was crisp enough for me...i just don't work well with them anymore.
funny, i used to shoot an eos 1 with a wide and a long zoom...was great...

yes, the 14 is sweet indeed...incredibly good...almost makes me want to use a tripod to get the best out of it...
and the 27 cannot come fast enough for me...though i have really learned to appreciate the 35 fov on the x-pro...

I agree... And I have one. The x100 size is just the best thing ever to have in your jacket pocket - the non-removeable lens becomes an advantage - do dust to clean etc and the size of the fixed lens front to back just can't be beat - and, hey, it only costs a bit more than the 14mm lens alone :) !!!

The X-Pro1 is my favorite feeling camera... in hand. I've always prefered gripless cameras and thought the built in grip would annoy me, but it doesn't.

Totally agree with that jsrockit.

I've always used grips with my Leica M's both film & digital. In fact when I bought my X-Pro1 I bought the Gariz leather 1/2 case as it worked so well for me on my previous Sony NEX-7 but I sold it straight away as the X-Pro1 without any grip feels far better (for me) and that includes using the Fuji grip too.

I have to say that ... (IMHO & YMMV) ... the Fuji X-Pro1 is for me the best handling digital camera I've ever used thus far ... and I've tried quite a few!
