I am a black and white shooter.
Some of you might follow my www.simonsawstreet.blogspot.com blog, which contains only black and white photographs of what I consider my own style of street photography (98% taken with Leica M).
But at times, I happen to wind a roll of colour film, may it be slide or negative, through one of my cameras, mainly the M2, or even use a digital body without converting the files to black and white. It did happen in the past, it still happens and it will happen again.
I therefore just put up another blog, presenting all kinds of colour photographs that I didn't judge as crap (95% taken with Leica M).

''random colour photographs' is not quite a focus like there is within the thisismystreet-blog' some may say. you're right, but I don't do enough colour and I'd hate to update a blog only once a year.

thank you for stopping by and your interest.
it's highly appreciated.

ps: I would love to study photography in London by next year or something, my application will contain only black and white photographs, but I'm having a hard time putting together series that I'm content with. any help, advice or field reports would be great (see my blog, flickr, daportfolio etc. for more of my work and info).
I already figured that the best way to a rational or even successful application would be actually going to London and meet the responsible(s) for the specific course, talk about **** and how I would fit or not fit in. aye?

Nice colour works 😉 About the London thing, if you dont have anything in mind yet have a look at the Royal College of Art, they have an opening day in December when you can meet with the staff and ask questions, a tour of the college etc, see here

for details.

I like your work SSS. Very nice. Good stuff

I used to shoot black and white solely but now I also shoot color but I find its harder to get images that are really interesting and striking, without some post processing. So I often desaturate the colors quite a bit and boost contrast to get a look that to my black and white photographer's eye looks good. I want a photo not to be simply representative in the sense that its an accurate representation of what I saw but rather one that is slightly removed from the real world. (Which is what black and white does naturally.) So I may also manipulate darkness and light by introducing vignettes that focus attention on the main subject. For me I am happy to post process for effect. Its the final image that counts. And I suppose its about developing my own unique style.

I like your stuff - especially the black and white.

I was in Vevey when I was a lot younger and saw a very slow, old Charlie Chaplin helped out of a car by his wife. I happen to know, as I am sure you do that Vevey has long had a fine photographic school. I do like your b&w's.

they still do have one or two photography schools, the point is that this is not the perfect region for my main style of photography. anyway, after 6 months I am back in Berlin now. =)
