the 27 combined with an xe1 or xe2 really makes mirrorless make sense to me...small & light weight, easy to carry or store on your person...excellent image making potential...

i must admit l really like using the XE-1 very nice and compact, i use it with an 18 but if l were to combine it with a 27 now that would really be compact

Apparently I'm the only one in the world that found the 27 too slow. Found myself using iso1600+ in indoor situations at daytime and couldn't hack it. Lovely lens in terms of IQ though. If fujifilm made an f2 or f1.8 version I would snap it up so quickly.

at 2.8 it is my slowest lens...but then i also have 3 very fast primes for back up 😉

Gotta give somthing up for that small size. F2.8 is fine for a 27mm walk around if it's going to be as tiney as the xf27.
It would be nice if the did a 60mm pancake as well. I could live with f2.8 or even 3.5 if it was round about the same overall package as the 27mm.
Fuji would really kill it with a set of pancake primes with moderate rather than fast or slow apertures. They seem to be going the opposite direction.
They are overfeeding their lenses. Gotta put them on a diet 😛

Great news. Now I won't feel any pangs of guilt when I use your first 27/1.8 lens🙂.
The 27/1.8 is one of the reasons I enjoy using the X-Pro 1 as much as I do.

As you know I would have dropped my card on this deal in a heartbeat. Instead I bought a used one for $225 last week.

Well . . . Fuji did not get my money and I gotta say that I am pissed . . . they went on this new MAP thing last month . . . no advertised discounts and the price went back to $450. I gave up on buying new from BH and paid $225 for a used one. Now they drop the price. Trust no one.

W/ this 35f2..coming. Let's hope that they go back a look at those other f1.4 lenses and do an f2 or 2.8 version. I am holding off on the 16f1.4 hoping a smaller version is announce at f2 or 2.8.

I'd still like to know if the upcoming 35f2 will be cheaper than the 35d1.4 because it's slower, or will it be more expensive because it will be weather sealed ...
