I think the photo is better because of the neckstrap. I don't really like people in my shots.

Just get a real camera, not one of those silly toy rangefinders so you can actually see what will be in the shot instead of a rough guesstimate.

Digitals have straps too. I have one on my D90 with a Super Goofy banging on the left of the camera.
(unfortunately the lenses on my D90 are too long to let him pop up in he frame ).
