Trip to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hello,

I'll be travelling to Sarajevo in two weeks. I shall be staying in Sarajevo, mostly, but short trips around the rest of the Balkans are not out of the question.

Does anyone have any places to recommend for good bargains on camera equipment, or good photographic opportunities? I'll be shooting mostly street and landscapes.

Also, if there are any RFF members in Sarajevo who would like to meet up, that would be great.

I'm slightly miffed because my Mamiya 6MF is still in the service centre and probably won't reach me in time. I'll have to use my Moskva 5 and a Franka Solida scale-focus 6x6 folding camera.

I’ve just read... that you are coming in Croatia too, where exactly?

I don't know about photo bargains... camera equipment in stores is rather expensive and kind of rarity.. 🙂

...there are so much of great motives to shoot... and just the fact that Balkan and Bosnia is probably already exotic for you... 🙂

Pleasure. I don't know where in Croatia I might be going to. My friend and I are just going to see what trains we can take from Sarajevo and just travel around, really.

It certainly is an exotic place for me, and the history of the region really is significant (we shall be travelling to Kosovo, if we can). But I know the Balkans are so much more than a post-war region, so I hope to capture some of that while I'm there.
