My favorite film. Good prices (usually), great contrast. Neopan 400 and T3 is a insane combination. Hopefully this doesn't happen anytime soon.
As good a film as it is I liked it better when I could buy it as Legacy Pro for twenty (thirty?) something dollars per 100 ft from Freestyle. The fact that this deal was avaiable indicated it's future was in danger in my book.
I think everybody should stop getting in a huff about this. As far as I know, it's still currently available. If it does get discontinued, then it'll just be another film that's gone.
I used to get all bent out of shape over the loss of film ( and papers ) but it's the way of the film world now. If it ever truly is discontinued, then I suppose I won't be using it anymore. As much as I hate to say it, we have to deal with the film that's available, not the film of yesterday.
I miss lots of film that is no longer made, but I finally realized that it's futile to lament over film that's long gone.
And with that said, I still cry over the loss of HIE, Tech-pan, Agfapan 100 and Agfachrome - hey - I'm only human 😉
400X is great stuff it would be sad if it was discontinued although i haven't been using it much either
i think a lot of you are giving the OP an unnecessarily hard time. i don't think we have gotten to a "Source or ban" mentality here yet? just treat it as an interesting discussion topic.
While I completely agree with the folks who say to wait for an official statement from Fuji, there has been quite obvious evidence of late that Fuji is preparing to ditch Neopan 400 and Provia 400x.
A while back (a few months), a few of you may remember that Fuji took a bunch of their film and overhauled the box design/color-scheme. Velvia 50 & 100, Pro 400h, Acros 100, etc.
There were two noticeably absent films that did not receive updated designs. Yep, you guessed it. Provia 400x and Neopan 400 were not updated.
So putting 1 and 1 together, rumors of their demise and lack of repackaging updates... Well, if you're the type to stock up, now would be better than later.
And if you want sources: http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n130322_03.html

Sorry, it seems you may have forgotten to attach a copy of their notification to your post.
After previous debacles surrounding the "demise" of certain films (which in some instances was subsequently found to be incorrect) perhaps you will appreciate that unsubstantiated posts such as yours above, are unlikely to be well received.
Having kicked this ball off, I will leave it in your capable hands to come up with a more substantive reference with more details about this development for us. Thanks in advance for that.
Cheers,
Brett
If the OP had put one of these (?) at the end of his thread title he wouldn't be copping so much flak.
Tough audience!
We are sensitive about these things 🙂
Its ok to say Sources report China sales occupy over 50% of Leica's market without providing said source, but its NOT ok to say films are discontinued without solid substantiated evidence 😀
The response I got was:
"No, Neopan 400 is not discontinued. Its packaging was not updated because it was deemed not cost effective to do so."
