Damn. I should have kept the 4+ 50/1.5 Canon lenses that I sold to other RFF members in the past .... 🙂
Roland.
i guess that's one thing that's recession-proof ...
Sounds to me like you paid a premium for yours too.I bought my current zm 50/1.5 sonnar NIB for 700$. I wonder why people pay premium for the older lenses...
I should be thankful to the person who started this thread. As, I might have a Nikkor 5cm 1.4 pretty soon. 🙂
happy
The Nikkor to buy is the "Tokyo" version, (smooth ~ creamy 3-D bokeh like the Canon f1.5) but they are very uncommon ~ you might see 2 if your lucky 3 a year offered online, the "Japan" version is a lot more common.

Well, I just got a Nikkor 5cm 1.4 and its "Japan" version and I find it great so far. Didnt have much time to test it more, but I think it's very sharp and has great bokeh. Cant see how it could be better, yet.
$710 for a Canon 50/1.5. That's more than I paid for the pair of my original LTM Wartime 5cm f1.5 Sonnars.
